Responsibilities
Ms. Johanna Sjödin is a Programme Officer at SIWI’s Knowledge Services Department. Her main responsibility is to assist the SIWI Programme Manager/Economist in project management and various economic analyses of water resource issues; for instance developing and using hydro-economic models and arranging events that strengthens networks of water economists. Ms. Sjödin is also part of the support team of the EU Water Initiative Africa Working Group, which contributes to the policy dialogue between European and African states regarding development assistance to water supply, sanitation and water resource management.
Competence
Ms. Johanna Sjödin is specialised in project and programme management. She has got strong skills in general project management, managing meetings and conferences and also good competence in quantitative data analysis and econometrics. Before joining SIWI, Ms Sjödin gained experience from various international organisations within the fields of water policy and international development. For instance, she carried out research on financial and governance aspects of urban and rural water supply and sanitation in Chile and Nicaragua. Through language studies and by living and working in several Latin American and European countries, Ms Sjödin has gained a strong command of Spanish and French.
Background
Ms. Johanna Sjödin holds an MSc in International Development and Management and a BSc in International Social Science and Economics.
