Mr Anders Berntell, Executive Director

Mr Anders Berntell has been Executive Director of SIWI since February 2002. A biologist by training, he is knowledgeable about overall water issues and international development cooperation. Under his stewardship SIWI has grown into a respected independent, international institution.
Mr Per Bertilsson, Deputy Executive Director

Mr Per Bertilsson joined SIWI in September 2009. He brings 30 years of experience working with natural resources and environmental management, policy formulation and infrastructure development in a wide range of sectors.

Prof Falkenmark is an outstanding environmental scientist and synthesiser with interest in the linkages between humans, land and water, particularly as they relate to water scarcity in developing countries.

Prof Lundqvist has studied the close links between society and natural resources, both in the North and South.
Mr Jens Berggren, Director, World Water Week

Mr Berggren was appointed as the Director for the World Water Week in Stockholm in 2010. He is an experienced water generalist who has worked extensively with both policy and implementation within the fields of environment and climate change in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Mr Berggren speaks Swedish, English and Spanish.

Dr Marianne Kjellén joined the UNDP Water Governance Facility at SIWI in 2010. Dr. Kjellén also teaches Geography at Stockholm University, and acts as Social and Gender Expert in the Knowledge Management Team of the Ecological Sanitation Research Programme at the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI).
