SIWI boosts youth engagement with newly launched channel

We believe that a water wise world needs the voice of youth. Without these young leaders we cannot solve tomorrow’s water challenges. SIWI is taking another step toward engaging, informing and empowering youth by communicating with them in a way and space specifically designed for them.

SIWI has long championed activities to promote youth engagement and empowerment, such as: Stockholm Junior Water Prize, World Water Week Young Professionals’ Day, World Water Week Junior Rapporteurs. the Young Scientific Programme Committee and the Young Professionals Speaker Directory.

In 2018 we took these efforts further by establishing youth as a cross cutting issue under SIWI’s Strategy 2018-2021; ensuring its mainstreaming throughout our work and organization.

Today, we are launching a dedicated Instagram channel for youth! According to Statisa, 64 per cent of Instagram users are between the ages of 18 and 34.

The new @SIWI_Youth channel is a place where we can connect with the next generation of water leaders by highlighting their work, provide career and learning opportunities, offer inspiring stories, share experiences and much more!

Join us on this adventure by following @SIWI_Youth today!
