Xylem supports water innovation through youth and business

The Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) celebrates innovation and promotes the ambitions of young people to solve the world’s water and sustainability issues. Each year, the competition draws more than 10,000 entries from over 30 countries. This year a record 33 countries will participate in the international final, hosted in Stockholm during World Water Week.

We are delighted that Xylem continues their support of the Stockholm Junior Water Prize as Founding Global Sponsor. Xylem’s commitment to innovation make them an excellent partner for the competition. As a part of the visit to Stockholm, all finalists are invited for a special visit to the Xylem Sweden office where they have the chance to tour the facility and meet with Xylem’s President and CEO, Patrick Decker. This year’s winner(s) will also get a chance to participate in a SIWI Sofa with Mr. Decker.

Thanks to Xylem’s generous support, SIWI has developed a unique alumni network for SJWP finalists – WaterTank. WaterTank brings together the SJWP’s best to share ideas, build projects and be mentored by handpicked advisors. The goal is support SJWP finalists in growing their water careers and – eventually – turning their projects into practice.

In addition, Xylem has inspired the theme of this year’s Business Leader Breakfast at World Water Week, co-organized by the World Economic Forum and SIWI, on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and how developing technologies can enhance the smart management of water resources.
