The 1992 Stockholm Water Symposium analysed the water pollution situation in different world regions, and identified key measures in seeking effective solutions. The symposium concluded that there is plenty of knowledge on what should be done to minimise harmful fluxes from land. There are however a multitude of barriers impeding the implementation of those measures.
