Poverty, hunger, environmental problems and diseases would be directly combated and significantly scaled back if fought with water access as a primary goal. However, 1.1 billion people lack access to safe drinking water and 2.4 billion people lack access to sanitation.
This policy brief illustrates waters importance in the Millennium Development Goals and the efforts to combat the worlds most plaguing problems.
