2014 Call for abstracts

World Water Week Published: November 2013

In 2014, World Water Week we will focus on energy and water, thus addressing some of the most urgent challenges facing our world. We look forward to welcoming energy and water professionals from the science and research communities, governments, international organizations, civil society and the private sector to Stockholm.

Summary

Energy and water are two sectors inextricably linked and interdependent. We need water for energy (to extract, refine, cool, store, produce fuel and hydro-power etc), and energy for water (to extract, transmit, pump, treat, desalinate etc). It is high time to connect our thoughts and actions. Increased contact and engagement between the water and energy sectors will be to the benefit of us all. We believe that this is just the beginning of a closer cooperation: it is only by thinking and acting together that we can solve some of our time’s most pressing problems.

In these pages, you will find a thorough presentation of the 2014 World Water Week theme. There are also instructions on how to submit event proposals and abstracts. I would like to welcome you all to join the discussion in 2014.
