Learn more about IWRM – apply for our international training programme


The international training programme on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) is now open for applications. Water professionals with at least five years of work experience and an interest in learning more about IWRM are encouraged to apply.

The course offers:
- Increased knowledge of international, national and local IWRM management processes and tools
- Increased understanding of IWRM and it’s links to sustainable development and poverty reduction
- Tools for transforming  the acquired knowledge into practice
- Excellent network opportunities

The training programme consists of 5,5 weeks of scheduled training: 3,5 weeks in Stockholm in August-September, and 2 weeks in Lao in November-December. In between these training sessions, the participants will complete individual projects and assignments in their home countries with the support of the programme secretariat.

The programme is organised by Ramboll Natura AB and the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI). The International Water Management Institute (IWMI) is a coordinating partner. The training in Lao PDR is hosted by the Water Resources and Environment Administration and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and it is carried out in close co-operation with these organizations.
