Ms. Sjödin works in the Water Governance team, particularly on accountability in water and sanitation service delivery and source-to-sea management.


Ms. Johanna Sjödin is a Programme Officer at SIWI’s Water Governance department. She currently divides her time between two projects. For the Accountability for Sustainability programme she is part of the team providing technical assistance and help desk support to UNICEF and its country offices on governance and institutional aspects of water supply and sanitation service delivery. For the Action Platform on Source to Sea Management, she manages the secretariat, including internal and external communication activities, and contributes to the strategic planning for the Platform.


Ms. Johanna Sjödin has strong skills in water economics and financing as well as in water governance and accountability analysis. Her previous work at SIWI has included leading SIWI’s work on water pricing, making contributions on water integrity to the OECD Water Governance principles, political economy and governance analysis of countries in the Middle East for water resources management and starting up SIWI’s engagement in corporate water responsibility with the textile sector.


Before joining SIWI, Ms Sjödin gained experience from various international organisations within the fields of water policy and international development. For instance, she carried out research on financial and governance aspects of urban and rural water supply and sanitation in Chile and Nicaragua. Ms. Sjödin holds an MSc in International Development and Management and a BSc in International Social Science and Economics.
