SIWI arranges seminar on sustainable water use in textile production in Washington DC, USA

On Friday October 17, SIWI and the Embassy of Sweden in Washington organise the seminar "Water Use in Textile Production - At the Heart of Sustainable Business".

The seminar will introduce the Swedish Textile Water Initiative (STWI) and present U.S. companies and stakeholders with strong CSR profiles with the hope to inspire more engagement and innovative collaboration. Katarina Veem of SIWI will moderate the seminar and speakers include representatives from U.S. and Swedish retailers such as H&M, Indiska and KappAhl.

Swedish Textile Water Initiative (STWI) started in 2010 as a joint project between Swedish textile and leather retail companies and Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI). The project focuses on water in the supply chains of textile and leather retailers aiming to contribute to wiser water management from thread and raw hide product.

STWI has developed and published guidelines for sustainable water and chemical use in the textile and leather supply chains. The guidelines implementation is steadily increasing. Read more about STWI here.
