Isabel Alvarez Murillo is a Programme Officer in the Water and Sanitation Department. Her professional background is in research, design, and management of international development projects in Water, Sanitation, Hygiene (WASH), integrated water resources management and water and food security. Isabel has gained five years of experience by working for intergovernmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, the private and academic sector in Ecuador, Canada and Italy.

She is currently involved in the implementation of the WASH-BAT tool in countries around the world and Water Integrity and Accountability projects in Latin American countries.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering and a Master´s degree in Integrated Water Resources Management both from McGill University in Canada. She speaks Spanish, English, French and Italian.
